Richard Gilbert is the Information Technology Manager for Programmable Devices and Device Interfaces for Ford Motor Company's Global Manufacturing Organization. He has global responsibility for development, deployment, and support for systems providing robotics interfaces, machine monitoring, and manufacturing intelligence for all of Ford's manufacturing facilities. Mr. Gilbert joined Ford Motor Company in 1996 as an analyst for Ford Motor Credit. Since then, he has served in a number of roles, including Advanced Plant Floor Systems, Worldwide Product Strategy, Consumer-Facing Systems, Application Development, Environmental Safety and Intellectual Property System, and Telematics. Before joining Ford, Mr. Gilbert held a number of positions in the technical consulting, speech recognition and synthesis, and entertainment software industries. Among other volunteer work, Mr. Gilbert serves on a group of Ford employees that act as pro bono quality and systems consultants to local non-profit human services agencies that provide foster care, group homes and adoption services to disadvantaged youth and adults across southern Michigan. He also volunteers with youth soccer in the Ann Arbor area. Mr. Gilbert holds a Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science from Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti and a Master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Northwestern University in Evanston. He is married and has two children.
