Steve Brennom is Vice President - Technical Services for Cat Tech Inc., a privately-held, Houston-based company that provides specialty catalyst handling services to refineries and chemical plants world wide. His responsibilities include R&D, engineering support, business/market development and intellectual property management. Prior to joining Cat Tech in 1996, Mr. Brennom consulted in pipeline maintenance services as an owner of Zaisan Enterprises Inc. and held a variety of general management, marketing, and technical positions with Praxair, Inc. He started his professional career as a coatings engineer with General Electric's Aircraft Engine Group. Mr. Brennom is a 35-year member of ASM International and regularly participates in industrial association events, such as the National Petrochemical and Refining Association's Maintenance and Technical Conferences and the American Institute of Chemical Engineering's Ammonia Safety Symposiums. His most recent technical publication is an article in Hydrocarbon Engineering about reducing catalyst attrition during the loading and unloading of fixed-bed reactors, and he is an inventor for several issued and pending patents related to industrial service technologies. Mr. Brennom earned three degrees at Northwestern; a BS in Science Engineering and a Masters and Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering. Later in his career, he completed The Executive Program at Rice University.
