Jay Harris is Global Director of Product Development for the Automotive Business Unit of Littelfuse, Inc. In this role, he leads a global team of engineers and scientists to develop products for electrical system circuit protection. He has been in this position since August of 2003. Some of his accomplishments in this role include a complete modernization of the tools used to develop products, growing the product team into a coherent global organization, creating and driving the discipline of a global document control system and taking a product development team of a harvest business and turning it into a team to support a growth business. Over his 13 year career at Littelfuse, he has had exposure to the manufacturing, operations, engineering, marketing and product development sides of the business. Most significantly, his experience has been in product development. He has led development teams and launched products in the automotive and electronics business units of Littelfuse. These products have covered all of Littelfuse?s major markets including automotive power, automotive electronics, telecom, cellular and consumer. Jay holds a Bachelor?s of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University and a Master of Engineering Management degree from Northwestern University.
