Richard W. Hammond is principal in RWH Partners, a consulting firm offering services in manufacturing engineering, utilizing lean manufacturing methodologies. His recent client list includes Owens-Corning, Louisiana Pacific, Kindell Furniture, Createc, and Zimmer Packaging. With a B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering from Kansas State University and an MBA from the University of Chicago, Mr. Hammond's experience ranges from shop supervision, through robotics and automation, to lean manufacturing. Mr. Hammond began his career as a plant foreman through General Electric's Manufacturing Management Program. He went on to hold positions of increasing responsibility, including ten (10) years at the vice president level with Maytag, Gardner-Denver, and Harris Broadcast. Among career highlights, he moved the Jenn-Air operation from Indianapolis to Cleveland, Tennessee as a vice president for Maytag Corporation. He also worked for Borg Warner Corporation, Ernst & Young, and Johnson & Johnson. In a concurrent career path, Mr. Hammond recently retired as a Brigadier General after 30 years in the Army Reserves. Serving in the Army Corps of Engineers, he conducted engineering construction and service programs worldwide. He is a graduate of the U.S. Army War College. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in Illinois, Iowa, and Indiana and holds certifications as a quality engineer, manufacturing engineer, and systems integrator.
